Moka Pot

Also known as: stovetop espresso maker

A stovetop brewer, patented by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933, that pushes hot water up through coffee using steam pressure.

A moka pot makes a strong, espresso-like coffee at roughly 1–2 bar of pressure — far below an espresso machine’s 9. Start with hot water and pull it off the heat as soon as it begins to gurgle to avoid a burnt taste.
