Over-Extraction

Also known as: over-extracted, overextraction

Pulling too much from the grounds, which makes coffee taste bitter, harsh and drying.

Common causes are a grind that is too fine, water that is too hot, or brewing for too long. Grinding coarser is usually the quickest fix.
