Decaf
Also known as: decaffeinated coffee, decaffeinated
Coffee with nearly all of its caffeine removed — in the US at least 97%; EU rules cap roasted decaf at 0.1% caffeine.
Caffeine is removed from green beans before roasting, using water (as in the Swiss Water Process), solvents such as ethyl acetate or methylene chloride, or supercritical carbon dioxide. A typical cup of decaf still contains a few milligrams of caffeine.
