French Press
Also known as: cafetière, press pot
An immersion brewer in which coarse grounds steep in hot water before a metal mesh plunger separates them, giving a full-bodied cup.
Because the metal filter lets oils and fine particles through, French press coffee feels heavy and rich. A coarse grind, about four minutes of steeping and a gentle plunge make the cleanest cup.
