Bourbon
A classic arabica variety from the island of Réunion (formerly Île Bourbon), known for sweetness and balance.
Bourbon descends from coffee the French brought to Réunion from Yemen in the early 18th century, and it is one of the two great heirloom lineages alongside Typica. Its descendants, including Caturra and SL28, underpin much of the coffee grown in Latin America and East Africa.
