Chemex

An hourglass-shaped glass pour-over brewer invented by chemist Peter Schlumbohm in 1941, used with thick bonded paper filters.

The heavy filters remove most oils and fine particles, producing an exceptionally clean, bright cup. The design is so iconic that it sits in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
