AeroPress

A hand-powered brewer, invented by Alan Adler and launched in 2005, that steeps coffee briefly and presses it through a paper filter.

Because it combines immersion with gentle pressure, the AeroPress is forgiving and versatile: it can make a clean, filter-style cup or a strong concentrate for milk drinks. Its light, nearly unbreakable body has made it a favorite for travel — and the subject of its own World AeroPress Championship.
